      45  A1    ---     Flag    New star flag (7)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Note (1): The absence of constellation abbreviation and number in constellation
    indicates a continuation line for the previous star. The record numbers are
    also void for such lines. Continuation lines are found only in Kepler's
    version, where they contain alternative positions or additional comments.

Note (2): A * here indicates that there is a note about this star. In Baily's
    version, in the Notes section pp. 160--165. In Dreyer's version of the
    Manuscript catalog, in the editor's notes, pp. 407--417. In Dreyer's
    version of the Progymnasmata catalog, in the editor's notes, pp. 439--461.

Note (3): The degrees part of the ecliptic longitude is expressed by two
    components: the zodiac sign, an integer from 0 (Aries) to 11 (Pisces), and
    the offset in degrees (in the range [0, 30[) within the zodiac sign. The
    degrees part of the ecliptic longitude is therefore 30 * Lo.z + Lo.d. All
    versions use the traditional symbols for zodiac signs rather than integers.

Note (4): This field is empty or has the value .5, in which case the minutes
    part of the ecliptic longitude is Lo.m + Lo.mi.

Note (5): This field is empty or has the value .5, in which case the minutes
    part of the ecliptic latitude is La.m + La.mi.

Note (6): The magnitude value is an integer from 1 to 6 or the mention 'ne' for
    nebulous objects. In the Progymnasmata version of the catalog, the integer
    value may be followed by a dot '.' meaning that the star is a little
    fainter than indicated by the given value, or a colon ':' meaning that the
    star is a little brighter.

Note (7): An asterisk here marks stars that have not been observed by the
    ancients (see the note at the bottom of p. 451 of Dreyer's "Tychonis Brahe
    Dani Scripta Astronomica", Tome II, Hauniae in Libraria Gyldenlaliana,
    1916, for the explanation of the magnitude dots and the new star flag, and
    Dreyer's "Tycho Brahe : a picture of scientific life and work in the
    sixteenth century", Edinburgh : Adam & Charles Black, 1890, p. 354 for an
    explanation of the magnitude dots).

Note (1): The absence of constellation abbreviation and number in constellation
    indicates a continuation line for the previous star. The record numbers
    are also void for such lines. Continuation lines are found only in Baily's
    version, where they contain alternative identifications extracted from
    Baily's notes.

Note (2): A '*' here indicates that this catalog entry has no identification.
     A '+' indicates that the identification has an issue described in
     notes.dat or notes_z.dat (for Flamsteed's version). In Baily's version, a
     '+' means that the identification has been extracted from Baily's notes or
     is marked with a question mark in the main text.

Note (1): Version(s) to which the entry applies
    m = Manuscript,
    t = Progymnasmata,
    k = Kepler.

Note (2): An equal sign here flags the entries considered duplicates in
    Rawlins's DIO articles on Tycho's Star Catalog. A '*' flags entries that
    may not be actual duplicates but whose catalog positions place close to
    each other.

Note (3): Distance in arcminutes between the members of the pair, based on
    Tycho's ecliptic coordinates in the catalog version(s) specified by Ver.
    This field and the Con field are present only on one of the entries for the
    duplicate pair.

Note (4): The actual constellation of the pair, according to Tycho's ecliptic
    position.
